I will never make it any other way.

Took me a while to convince my wife to try it but she liked it.

This! And don't be afraid to wap itnin bacon. Last one I did was indirect over live fire. My grate on my firepit fits a 22" weber kettle lid perfectly, like the design did that on purpose.hogaboomer wrote:I put mine directly on the grill to get more smoke.

I signed up as an early investor on Kickstarter and got the block and the single probe but gave them away as a gift. Only had my BGE then and was using a Flameboss 300 w/ fan controller. Kind of regret giving it away. My InkBird is flakey as $hit. Been looking at the Fireboard and the Thermoworks Signals. Might have to put the Heater back on the list. Anything about it bug you? Like battery life or anything?Dargo wrote: ↑December 29th, 2020, 5:23 pmGood eye, dacolson wrote:Dargo - how do you like the Meater temp probes? Do you have the block w WIFI?
I have the block and I love the set up. I have used all 4 probes with meat in 2 smokers and all worked great.
Graphs the cook like most of the wifi temp probes out there.
I would recommend these to anyone willing to splurge. Even if I have 1 chicken one I put in 2 probes to make sure all is good.

Battery life has been great. I had a 22 hour pulled pork cook and they did not run out of power.dacolson wrote:I signed up as an early investor on Kickstarter and got the block and the single probe but gave them away as a gift. Meatloaf looks great dargo. Love the idea of wireless probes. The only advantage of a controller with a fan, especially on a GF is that if you call for a temp, the fan blows more or less to keep the heat where you ask for it to be. If someone comes out with a wireless probe with a fan that would be the cats meow! Heck, maybe there is one out there already, but I haven't seen it..Dargo wrote: ↑December 29th, 2020, 5:23 pmGood eye, dacolson wrote:Dargo - how do you like the Meater temp probes? It wasnt high tech but I had a temp contolled fan for my weber WSMs. Worked so great it made the process boring! Wife asked what was wrong during a long cook and I said boredom - i know the temps correct so I dont need to check it. Having said that it made over night cooks a dream!!tinspark wrote:Meatloaf looks great dargo. Love the idea of wireless probes.
