After building my MACK, and a couple UDS's for some friends I am looking to build a Hybrid smoker/charcoal griller. Seems simple enough I guess (doesn't everything).... I was thinking of using a 36 or 48 inch cylinder with a welded plate in the middle (Maybe two with some insulation in between). one side a revers flow smoker the other a charcoal grate at the bottom with a grill grate on top. Any thoughts?
thanks

Re: Hybrid Charcoal Grill and Smoker
It's really 2 different cookers so It should work fine.
Measure Twice.....Cut Three Times.

Re: Hybrid Charcoal Grill and Smoker
I have the same project incoming. I think to put 2 vent on the cooling chamber (made with 40 gallons water heater) and close rhe firefox throat. Its not scientific, but i think i will have more grilling power directly in the cooking chamber line a classic cooking.
