Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
I really like my Maverick ET732. Has more features than I need but its nice to know they are there if I read the manual and learn how to use them. Nice pic of the man cave Pete. I built mine a couple of years ago using an epson HD projector, 106" diagonal projector screen (wide screen format), a nice yamaha 5.1 surround receiver, and Klipsch speakers. Nothing really loud but it sounds amazing.
Is it normal for one testicle to be larger than the other two?

If it's tourist season, how come I can't shoot 'em?

That's sweet Pete!
BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

My man cave looks nothing like that. Mine is full of metal fabricating equipment. Maybe I need to tell my wife I need yet another man cave like yours.

Well, I got that iGrill2 today. I didn't put it through its paces, but I did play with it. I must say, I already like it way better than my Maverick 732. You need a smartphone to use its full potential. Not sure it that's your thing. I'll run it through some tests over the weekend and maybe do a little review with screenshots from my phone and photos.

Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
I was wondering about the iGrill unit. I bought my son the maverick 733 to use with the smoker I just finished for him. Not sure if he was overwhelmed or what. I like the idea of using the phone especially the the freason' thing is stuck to my belt like an electronic ankle bracelet ! It would eliminate the receiver of the 733 and if I misplace it, I could call it from the house
Nice man cave Pete....cabinet shop? Terrific! Finished this spot in the basement about three yrs ago, was concrete block before that

Wow Puff how did you get everything to stick to the ceiling?! ;)
I didn't end up getting the thermo...I got a glock 19 instead. I'm not complaining...I will now have time to look into this iThingy.
Does it work for android?

Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
Android is all that's allowed in my house. The iGrill is made by a company called iDevices. They have nothing to do with Apple, except for jumping on the bandwagon and using their "i" for everything. They recently started supporting Android because all of the outcry from Android users who wanted the iGrill. Still haven't worked this thing out good yet. I got too busy knocking down a wall and raising the floor and ceiling to match the adjoining room.
I have a G-17 myself. Same thing as yours just a little longer and holds 17+1 instead of 15+1. I'm considering a G-19 just so I can conceal it easier.

Oh, there is one small downfall when purchasing the iGrill2. It has 4 probe inputs, but only comes with 2 meat probes. My wife was nice enough to get the $25 ambient probe. The nice thing is, you can use any combo of probes that you want.

What does one cost? I tried googling it but came up with too many options.

Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
My wife got mine straight from the company. It was $99 plus the $25 for each additional probe. It comes with 2, so if you want 4, it'll be $150.

I don't know what android phone you have, but reading the app reviews, it looks like older Android phone users are having some Bluetooth connection issues with the app. They're new to Android and just need to polish the app some. Seems like phones with newer versions of Android aren't having any issues at all.

Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
Yea, you should be good. I think that has a newer version of Android than my Razr Maxx HD. I have version 4.4.2 and the app works great. I just played with it with the ambient probe in my oven and took a bunch of screenshots. After playing with it, I want a new oven. Lol. I set the temp to 250. I didn't realize how inconsistent my oven actually is. The alarm sounds on the unit and on your phone.

Wow that looks addicting....I'd be one of those people I despise always buried in my phone...but because I want to track ambient temp differentials over the course of a smoke...LMAO!
Great sell job, thats what I'm getting.

Lmao. I can't stand seeing people hunched over giving the zombie stare into their phones neither. haha. But, this little gadget is pretty cool. You can also download the app for Android tablets and iPads. That way you can just leave it on the table (or RV counter top, for you high dollar cooks). I've only had this for a few days now, and I'm definitely digging it.

What kind of range does this thing have? Would it reach from my patio to my nightstand through several walls?

Re: Im in need of a good thermometer dual prob
Lol. I'm not 100% sure. The site says 100ft. It worked just fine for me today, 50ft away, through 2 walls, the tile shower, and 2 medicine cabinets while I was taking those screenshots sitting on the crapper. Lmao. I'm off all week, so maybe I'll test the range out tomorrow. My yard is over 200' deep, so I'll definitely know how well it works.
