I am headed to South Dakota next week for a buffalo hunt. I have no experience with smoking buffalo meat so wondered if anyone might have some wisdom to pass on. I know it’s a bit leaner than beef but not mush else. Figure a standard beef rub would work tho, right? What cook temps?
Any advise, tips or recipes are appreciated.

I've smoked elk and venison, I would think buffalo would be somewhere between them and beef. My experience cooking them taught me to not overcook them. I'm typically a medium steak kind of guy but with wild game I go medium rare and have better results.
