New from Victoria Australia

Post by Peaksy » July 11th, 2018, 5:38 am

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at building my first smoker after smoking on my Weber kettle for a couple of years. I have very little in the way of skills, but this is offset by a father in law who is a very accomplished welder, and also has the added bonus of having a virtual scrapyard at his (and my) disposal.

I'm looking at making a smoker using 2 x 100 lb propane tanks. I have a strong sense of self preservation, and a high level of paranoia when it comes to things like gas and electricity, so I won't be taking any risk with the tanks. At this stage the only materials I will need to buy look like being expanded mesh and paint.

I'm looking forward to the journey, and smoking some great food once I finish.

Welcome to the crew... Yep prep those tanks carefully :exp:

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford
