Manatee and sunrise pictures

Post by SAFETYHARBORREDNECK » February 9th, 2017, 7:52 am

A couple blocks down the street from my house is a pier that overlooks Tampa Bay.
I like to go there in the mornings and take pictures of the sunrise.
Sometimes the manatee will show up and play.
Here's a few sample pics.Image
Sometimes I get photo bombed,LOL

Very nice. Makes me want to go on vacation. It's 8 degrees snowing and blowing here kinda makes you wanna wash your mouth out with buckshot. You have a nice thing there pal enjoy it.

I've dove Crystal River before but always in the summer so there were never many manatees. Very cool that you get time see them.

Wow dude, there's some spectacular shots there & the manatees are just cool. We've got a similar animal in Aus but it's called a dugong, so gentle & playful. :kewl:

Nice pics. Nice that the manatees are enjoying themselves without a care.

Unfortunately they're slow moving animals and get hit by boat propellers a lot.I'm on my way home right now,so I'll dig up a pic or two of some scarred up ones and some video of them shortly

Glad everyone likes the pics.
Most locals take the scenery for granted.
Here's a few videos of the manatee.
And Terry, they look like they're all blubber, but whenever they come off the endangered list you can bring your smoker over and we can find out!(J/K)
Enjoy folks

This is Main st. Safety Harbor. A sleepy little drinking town with a fishing problem.
As you head East out of town you'll cross over McMullen-Booth rd.Then it changes names to Sunset Point road. Here's why.
Certain times of the year, the sunset lines up with the road.Image
Image
Image
As I was looking for those pics I stumbled across this creature that hung out at the auto repair shop I use to work at.A lizard.(for you northerners, it's a tiny dinosaur)Image
Image
As you can see, it's an unusual one,to say the least. Most have a single tail.

Did any of you Northern folks see or hear about this big boy about a month ago?
The video was recent. The picture is the same gator 6 months earlier.Eatin the competition.Literally!
Big boy was about 4 feet tall and probably 13 feet long.
He lives right in between Rodcrafter and I,right down I-4.
