Matthew, my future son-in-law for whom I built the smoker has been experimenting with rubs etc and brought home some of the spoils.

One had a coffee and other ingredients rub and the other had a Jack Daniels glaze. Both tasted really good.

I could not participate in any cooking as last Sunday I came adrift on a platform ladder and smashed my kneecap. So I'm recuperating at home waiting for the leg brace and stitches to be removed in a week or so. A bit of a hassle as I wanted to get on with the GF Mini build. Anyway it will keep for a month or so.

Pics for latest experiment:

Man that looks awesome!! :needfood:

Dude, you're meant to stand on ladder platforms, not go drifting on them!! No wonder you hurt yourself, lol. =))

Hope you mend quickly, that smoker ain't going to build itself. :kewl:

Ahh Squiggle, I was actually getting off the platform, slipped and the leg went through the rung and my bodyweight came down on the knee and snapped the Patella tendon. Operator error all the way. But still a bugger as now I can't do ANYTHING in the shed for six weeks at least, and now beer, wine or alcohol for four weeks as I'm on blood thinning meds due to too many red blood cells making the blood thick. Now that's a bitch of the first order.
Anyway I can research how others are doing their builds.
And Frank, just because I'm running behind you don't have to ease off on the plans for The Mack... :-)

Thanks FC much appreciated. Bugger when one is reasonably active and you are housebound in a leg brace in 30 dec C heat.
Anyway, enough whinging. It could be a whole heap worse. I could have done both knees.. ahh shit just the thought makes me cringe.

Hang in there AJ. Six weeks isn't forever, it just feels that way when you are laid up. You'll be back at it before you know it.
