Im itching to see the new plans for the "baby brother". I check every day hoping that today is the day they become available.

Any status update on development would be great.

Timbo , funny you said that... I actually do the same thing.

I've finally learned to live with the sadness and disappointment when the page appears. I'm waiting for the day that elation fills the hole in my heart and joy returns to the welder in my garage! Oh the yearning to hear the crackling tones of mig wire melting away and the pungent fragrance of the hot steal

Yes... Someday!

Puff, If I were you I would pull those wheels off and put them on this smaller build once it comes out and you build it. I would put either solid rubber wheels on it or a good set of air filled tires on it, such as 4 front tires of a riding lawn mower should support that weight of your big gravity fed smoker. Just my 2 cents.

so... still waiting for the plans (yeah I know stop stirring the pot LOL)...

i do have a question about the up coming plans. Talking with welding buddy and he was asking about the racks. Are the deminsions as such that you can use commercial oven/cooking racks or will custom racks have to be made?

Sam's club sells these rolling chrome storage racks. They're rather heavy and the shelving is a great looking cooking grid....IF the chrome is okay for cooking on. I could be junk and peel under the the heat but they could be very easily trimmed to size with a cutting disc. For $90.00, you're getting 6-5 foot shelves, 4 hard rubber 4" casters and a pile of other junk I'm sure will find a use like closet poles or ...? We use these in our basement for storage shelving and some of the rack are supporting several hundred lbs of stuff like books and electronics equipment, transformers, cooking appliances etc.

For the same money, you probably can't buy the raw materials to make racks...and, they're chromed

Frank, maybe you could come up with an installment program! Put the design up, let us buy it, and start by giving us the the cut list for the frame, then next week, how to start welding the frame......?

Frank do you have any pictures of the one you have built in mock up?
And what would be the estimated amount of ribs that could be put on at one time?

I have not built this one yet. I'm not able to build all the sets of plans I draw. However it will work awesome!
As far as how many slabs of St Louis spares I would guess 9 to12
