What's Up from North Carolina

Post by Amellion » October 19th, 2019, 1:58 pm

Hey All!!!! Looking to build my first smoker from an oval oil drum(maybe 250 gallon) I am looking to see pictures of the different styles so I can decide what style I want to go with. I love to grill. Looking to really get into smoking so ribs, butts and eventually try the dreaded Whole Hog. I like doing this for fun because the smell of burning wood on a cool morning along with the smell of meat cooking is as close to heaven as you can get in my opinion. So any pictures or lessons learned you all here can offer will be greatly appreciated and once my build starts I plan on posting pictures and updates as the come.

Welcome. Skim through the smoker build threads and I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration.

Welcome aboard!! That looks like a 275 gallon tank. You can go to the reverse flow section and type 275 in the search bar and it should bring them up. I believe that smokerplans.net has a set of plans for that size tank. There have been a lot of smokers built from that style tank.

Welcome to the crew.
