First I would like to say I'm only trying to help when I say the following remarks.

Oh I see in the other pictures, that explains why your not getting much smoke. The smoke is all above the rack, riding right across the top of the CC. My phone doesn't let me see some stuff very clear when the colors are all the same. I know there is a lot of water under the bridge by now but, if the throat were at the bottom of the CC and the top of the FB, you would be able to run a very small fire and the smoke would pass right through the cooking rack. You would have been asking how do I get the smoke flavor down a bit.

You are 100% correct RC But he is trying to make it run like a jambo. And there FB to cc hole is very near what is pictured.

I think a little more deflection on the cc plate. And definitely add a similar deflection plate to the stack side.

Right now his smoke is high and taking the easy path right up and out the stack. And even yes I think that's making his fire even bigger and hotter. Hotter fire = less smoke. Do you concur?

Smoke flavor is dialed-in gentlemen!!!! Tom's suggestion of a deflector above exhaust throat slowed down the air flow and traps the smoke in longer. I've owned several offsets, but this thing is awesome! Thanks for your help!

Yep, I get it Tom. I believe that is right on. I will delete this post after "10%" of the folks see it. I don't want DC seeing me agreeing with you.

I think old 10% Tom has been holding back on y'all. He almost BTU'd this thread! I'm glad you were able to get it dialed in.
