Burning down mesquite.
I live in West Texas, so I cook with mainly mesquite. I have a separate fire area where I cook that I burn down the mesquite coals and shovel them into my firebox. I like the flavor that coals give as opposed to throwing in logs of mesquite. Any ideas how I could rig up some kind of "coal maker" for my pit that was easier/and safer then walking around with a shovel fool of coal?
