UDS ash pans?

Post by p3ripperfw » January 30th, 2017, 9:47 pm

What are you guys using for ash pans in the uds'? I was thinking of a hot water heater drip pan or a deep dish pizza pan. I'm needing one 18" in diameter.

That would work fine. I have a fire basket from udsparts.com and it has a plate under the basket I've just been putting some foil in it and it catches the ash fine.

I used the lid off of an old square charcoal grill for my ash pan. I believe the water heater pans are galvanized if I'm not mistaken and I personally don't use anything galvanized inside my cookers.

I'm using the water heater pan. I found a 20 inch aluminum pan at Home Depot for under $20. It works great and also catches any drips that aren't caught by the drip pan. I pull the fire basket and then pull the pan, clean it out and put it back in.

I use a $3.50 20" pizza pan from the discount dollar store.
