Definitely looks cool, so many possibilities from that clean slate.

I'll be watching this build. One of these days I might have a bigger budget.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
So it's been a while. Life has a funny way of getting into the way of progress. I've finally got the funds together to really start making progress on this business trailer build. I've added 4' to the overall trailer length and started running new wires for trailer lights, brakes etc. I've got a local lumber Mill working on my build materials right now to construct the enclosed kitchen portion and full length roof. Of course it's now the start of winter here so progress will be slowed due to weather but it's moving forward.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
Man I am really looking forward to watching your progress. We have an older 28' fifth wheel camper and all we can add to the weight of trailer is about 1800 lbs. This keeps it under 10,000 lbs GVW. May want to add a bed somewhere so you can call it a camper if over 10,000 so you do not have to have a Class A CDL to pull it.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
Since this is what the DMV calls single use or purpose there are no weight restrictions or special license needed. The trailer doesn't need to be inspected. It's similar to a commercial wood processor they are single purpose overweight length width etc. I'm not looking to push the envelope any. Keeping to the 8' wide 36' long 12' at the roof. That keeps me inside the width and height for a commercial vehicle trailer. no way of telling what the total weight will be until it's done then I'll run it across the scales.

Nice
I don’t know if I am legal or not but I don’t have a tag on mine I think like you said it’s single purpose like a concrete mixer or welding machine they don’t require tags either.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
So my dream/nightmare is still active for those of you that remember lol. The frame has been fully stripped and I welded in New supports where they were needed along the sides and up the middle. A new rear bumper was added in with new tail lights. New pollack whip was wired in and electric brakes are temporarily hooked up. Just waiting for nys health dept to approve my plans and I can begin the construction. Final dimensions fell at 36' total length 8' wide 8'tall from the decking. I decided to only use the lower deck for the kitchen so I ended up with 28' x 8' workable kitchen space (minus the smoker). The fifth wheel portion will house the generator, water, hot water tanks fuse panel etc.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
Yikes...i was under the impression that you were keeping the front half of the trailer and only cutting off the back. That was a lot of work for a set of axles. Nice job.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

You’re getting her started for sure. This size project takes a lot of time. But when you get it done you have a great rig

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
Well since the last post I've retired the electric brakes and new lights. The frame has been reinforced and gusseted to accommodate the weight of the smoker. I've ordered the sub flooring materials so that's my next step. My buddy is a contractor so he's going to frame in the enclosed kitchen for me. When that's done I'll post some progress pics. No sense showing you fellas blinking trailer lights lol.

Re: Reverse flow rolling kitchen
Not the best picture but I got the smoker moved onto the new trailer. The kitchen shell is ready to be framed in.
