Gas Cylinder RF Smoker

Postby secondhandsmoke » February 3rd, 2018, 2:10 am

Hi Guys,

Greetings for Brisbane, Australia

Here's my little backyard RF smoker. I needed something a little smaller than my 24' trailer pit.

The tank started life as a vehicle gas cylinder (LPG tank in Australia).

Started off with the frame

Then got the firebox panels laser cut and welded up.

Waiting for said lamb shoulder to cook.

Welcome. Nice build. Looks like a neat little unit. :kewl:

I used some ideas from the forum for my first build which is a 24 inch trailer mounted pit, but I pretty much just winged it this time. I used the same numbers as the trailer pit, just scaled down.

Secondhandsmoke, where around Brissie did you get your thin expanded metal from? I only seem to find the thicker stuff.

I bought it from Onesteel, but I’m pretty sure they order it in from Webforge. I bought a whole sheet when I built the trailer
