First attempt at building two smokers.

Post by AussieGuy » November 14th, 2017, 6:37 am

HI Guys

Long time lurker here, first time poster.

I thought it was fitting that I post up some pictures after lurking through this site for months.

Myself and a mate decided to build a couple of reverse flow smokers, now these things aren't that common here in Australia (although that is changing). We sourced some pipe off a mate who works on a farm and had some long lengths of 18in by 5/16 wall pipe. (its heavy). We got some stuff laser cut up and then proceeded to melt it all together.

Quite happy with the finished product, just need to install some timber for a front bench and a lower shelf.

Tried it out last Saturday. Cooked up a pork shoulder and some beef ribs. Ive never cooked on one of these before and still don't have a decent thermometer set-up yet (christmas is coming) but it turned out sooo good. Everyone was impressed.
