My favorite "T" - gauge

Post by Gizmo » June 5th, 2012, 8:33 pm

T - gauges are just too handy to ignore.

I think that since they mount through the side wall and stick outside, their location is their biggest enemy for being accurate.
In other words you can make a liar out of most of them with a digital probe - some worse than others...

That being said... this gauge is a TEL-TRU with a 4 inch stem and it runs even with or maybe 10 or 15 degrees cooler than my maverick - depending on the weather usually.

Image

TEL-TRU also makes a 3 inch dial and 4 inch stem. Both of these are shown in Edgar's CC door in the "Edgar is underway..." thread in reverse flow.
The 3" dial is a little more money but seems to be a little more accurate - at least the way it's recessed a full inch into Edgar's door as you'll see.

Hope this helps ... :)

I can understand why the 5" dial would be good!, you don`t have to get to see what the temp is!, I`ll look around in August and see if I can buy one of them!
